Jewellery Valuations and Sales

What we value

Antique Vault’s jewellery department typically handles valuable non costume jewellery. We specialise in gold and silver items as well as precious stones such as diamonds and emeralds.

The Jewellery Market

The market for antique and vintage jewellery remains strong even in tough economic times. High-end jewellery is typically made of raw materials – such as gold, silver and diamond – that inherently hold their value in troubled economic markets. As such the price of silver and gold hit record highs in 2011.

Most Expensive Sales

DiamondThe most expensive piece of jewellery ever sold is unsurprisingly a diamond. The Graff Pink Fancy Diamond was sold in November 2010 at Sotheby’s Geneva for a massive $46m. The 24.78-carat stone was bought by London jeweller Laurence Graff, who immediately renamed it the Graff Pink.
